Nice little museum which shows the history of the Local Railway line. Most texts are japanese only, so it is a bit hard to understand.

Tug away in this small town in the mountains, it is definitely not accessible to most people unless driving. By bus it will take multiple transfers from Obihiro, then kamishiro before arriving. There isn't anything special about this town but the story behind this station and the railroad that used to exist is definitely a small but charming tale to those that are railfans. Following the trail of the railway to the the north east bank of the lake will bring you to Taushubetsu bridge that used to carry the trains across the lake. Go there during a clear spring day while the lake is frozen is truly a spectacular sight to behold.

2021年ゴールデンウィークに7歳の息子と訪問。資料館の目の前に来てようやく32年前にも訪れた事を思い出しました。当時の写真は基礎のコンクリートが綺麗です。

ありし日の士幌線の姿を懐かしみ、また、たどることができます。この辺りが糠平駅だった、ということになるのでしょうか。 一時期は災害等による理由ではなく「利用者数が少ないから代替バス」という離れ業もやってのけた士幌線。時代のうつろいを感じながら学びましょう。 入館料は100円。コロナ対策として、アルコール消毒に加えて入館者名簿を作成し、いざという場面に備えています。また、付近は鹿さんもあちこちに出没しているのでドライバーさんは運転に気を付けて。

小さな資料館。でも地域密着の鉄道資料があり、興味深く見れた。コロナウイルスの為、サイトに登録し、感染者等がここを利用した際にメールが来るシステムもあり、安心感もあった。

タウシュベツ川橋梁ツアーに行く前に鉄道資料館を見物しました。 館内では、昭和62年に廃線となった旧国鉄士幌線の歴史、概要、当時に使用された保守作業の道具や備品が展示されていました。

士幌線についてまったく知らなかったのだが、こちらの資料館に偶然たどり着き、その歴史を学ぶことができた。 廃線時に乗客が残していった切符の数々が、たいへん興味深かった。
