わさび丼(Wasabi don)/A bowl of rice dish covered with katsuo bushi(dried bonito flakes), topped on fresh grated Wasabi is the most key dish. That was my first time to grate an authentic Wasabi on a grater made of shark skin(shagreen). As I started to eat the rice bowl with pouring a little bit soy sauce on it, I thought that the Wasabi flavour kicks into my nose. but it was really mild. Because the bonito flakes softened its harsh flavour. The dish is really simple but really flavorful(O) Plus added, this eatery was used for a location shooting for a famous Japanese TV show \孤独のグルメ(Kodokuno Gourmet)Solitary connoisseur of good food\.

Wasabi don was delicious. A simple bowl of rice with kotsuo flakes, soy sauce and freshly grated wasabi. Staff was very nice and helpful. The store also sells wasabi and wasabi based preparations.
Nice little place near the Kawazu Seven Falls (Nanadaru). They specialize in providing fresh wasabi roots which you turn into paste yourself. You can get a variety of rice bed or soba sets. Reasonably priced but prepare for a bit of a wait (I waited 90 minutes for my table - 7 people) as it's a popular place to eat in the area.
Just average for the taste but still worth a try for the experience. I suggest: Sign up at the book then take a walk of one hour to see the falls around. After that back to this place to Grind wasabi by yourself and have some wasabi-soba. It's refreshing both for your vision and taster.
