A beautiful castle, well maintained n full of history. It has several sections and the walk would take u at least 2 hours, it also leads to the Garden which is one of the TOP 3 gardens in Japan. Many variety of plants, trees, flowers n shrubs here and all are beautifully pruned n cared for. Worthwhile visit as one can enjoy both places- the castle and the gardens. Many interesting souvenir shops n cafes also. One can relax while having a meal before more sight seeing. The castle grounds are quite large as is the Garden so be prepared for a Long walk. There are also many nice monuments and rock gardens in the area. You can walk from Kanazawa station to the castle but stop at the market first - it’s also interesting as it has many fresh produce- seafood n fruits, also many nice stalls selling local food. The price is not too expensive n the food is quite delicious. From the market it is about 20 minutes walk to the castle. A visit such as this should be a full day trip so do enjoy all that Kanazawa has to offer!

We didn't visit inside, but the castle from the outside is nice to walk around. The gardens are quite spacious, and it's well worth a visit if you're heading to Kanazawa.

It is beautiful at every season. Golden lawns, white castle walls and traces of snow melting down gives You chance to make nice photo.

Not the biggest of Japanese castles, but the grounds and gardens are nice to stroll around during spring.
