I really enjoyed my stay here and I’m definitely glad that I came. The owner is a lovely graceful gentleman who takes pride in his house. Even as a solo female traveller I felt very safe and secure here. The room I stayed in is spacious and is a delight in the morning when natural sunlight filters through the windows! Definitely recommend for people who want to experience traditional Japanese interior design. There are lots of restaurants and bars nearby and it is very conveniently a short walk from the station. The showers and toilets were super clean too! The owner has a really large book collection as well and you can find all sorts of interesting books, travel guides and manga to read at your leisure :)

I have fond memories of my stay of three nights in this place, above all thanks to the kindness and helpfulness of the owner, a very nice and polite person, of whom we appreciated the discretion and the pleasant company; moreover he helped us a lot in solving a big issue. The guesthouse is a short walk from the train station, and is in a quiet location in a neighborhood of small streets, close to many places to eat or spend the evening. The location is also convenient for taking buses and getting to the main attractions of Kanazawa. The guest rooms are on the first floor, while the owner lives on the ground floor, near the common room, where the kitchen is available. The house is well maintained and clean. You will be asked to respect certain rules of behavior and order, but basically nothing more than common sense and respect. Super recommended!

This place is fantastic. It is very good value if you are on the budget. Although the price is cheap, the owner provide towel, air-conditioning, lockers, shampoo, body soap. Hence a very worth deal.

At first, I was hesitant to stay at a hostel but the host, Makato keeps this place incredibly clean! He is welcoming, has great stories from his travels and is helpful with any questions you may have about Japan!
The place is Makoto-san house. Even thought you are living in his house, at no time we felt unwelcome or uncomfortable, on the contrary, Makoto-san is very welcoming, friendly and polite. The house is cleaned everyday and was probably the cleanest hostel/guesthouse I have stayed in. Location is excellent. Full use of kitchen available. Probably the best place we stayed in on our trip around Japan. Will definitely stay there again and fully recommend it to anyone.
