Well worth a visit and stroll around the markets selling local fish, vegetables and fruits. Unfortunately we visited on a Wednesday and many shops were closed. However a number of restaurants had large queues outside with eager dinners! Will try to visit again during another day to see if the vibe is different but really enjoyed the time I spent here in the popular market. Note: there are a number of signs asking you NOT to take photos of the foods
This place is like a traditional market in Japan. They mainly sell varioud fresh seafoods , fruits, and vegetable. If you come there at 2p.m. then you will find a huge discount at some seafood stalls. For example you can find fish which is already packed in a big plastic bag and it is enough to feed two people for three days by only 300 Yen. It is crazy right ??? You can also find a very cheap vegetable shop, Last week I bhought poatoes placed in a big basket , or maybe equal to 1.5 kg by paying 300 Yen only. I also bhought carrots placed in a plate, maybe it is equal to 1kg , with price 200 Yen. It is so crazy. Compare to supermarket price, the fish and vegetable there is way cheaper. I attached the vegetable shop picture. The shop name is aka ko shoten(赤小商店).For foreigner, especially indonesian people In omicho, we can also find some indonesian sauces such as ABC soy sauce, ABC sweet soy sauce, ABC spicy sauce, fish sauce, etc in a big store named Diamond. This store have two floors and the imported food ingridients on the second floor.
Must visit spot in Kanazawa! Many seafood! Freshly served!
Some local vegetable and 漬物 are so delicious. It may take 15 minutes from station and seems most are tourists
