Cool museum showcasing history of 小江戸川越. Great starting place to experience all of the local Shinto / Buddhist / Edo era architecture, and brings out the history that is otherwise hard to find in modern day Tokyo.

Experience the Edo Era of Japan in Kawagoe is extraordinary. The historical architecture and building in this area will bring you back to the old periode of Japan. You can find many kinds of street food, traditional hand-crafted goods, second-hand store, and many more surrounding this area. It takes around 1.30 hours from Tokyo by JR, so you can go only for one-day trip or stay a night.

正直、思っているものと若干違いました…（汗） 街の1画が小江戸や菓子屋横丁となっていますが、基本的には普通の街なので民家があったりお寺やお墓なども普通にあります。 ただその一角は歴史を感じる建物から現代風のオシャレな建物、お店も存在して過去と現代が混ざっている不思議な感じです。でも個人商店のようなお店はイッパイあるので、街並みを楽しみながら食べ歩きが楽しめる感じです。
