This hotel was fantastic! They own a few properties in the area so make sure you’re away of which chalet or lodge you’re booking and it’s location on google maps. The Morino team was SO helpful and flexible with our group, traveling during an odd season with covid. Thank you for all of your help! We will absolutely be back.

This lodge is very simple in terms of furnishings and interior finishes, amenities are very sparse compared to a hotel. However the service and community atmosphere more than makes up for it, that's why so many people give it a 5 star. The people are so friendly and they really go out of their way to help you. You will feel at home and that the other guests are your friends as well. This is something that no other hotel can replicate. The location is pretty central, it's close to Happo resort and they have shuttle to bring you around as well. Your stay by no means will be a luxury experience but more of a warm and memorable one. Updated review after a few days of stay: The hotel seems very understaffed. Many of the staff are working as summer jobs. They also sell Morino pizza, in addition to servicing the lodge guests. They have a small kitchen so breakfast can be very busy and one might need to wait for 30min to get their order.

The staff here get an A for service, even for someone like me who didn't stay with them. My son and I came here for a pizza dinner on our last night in Hakuba. The hotel has the custom of patrons taking their shoes off at the entrance, and using the slippers provided inside the hotel and restaurant. The food was excellent, and the lady at the bar even gave the TV remote for us to choose what to put on. Anyway, post dinner, I couldn't find my shoes anywhere. We soon realized that someone else accidentally took my Timberland shoes instead of theirs when they left the hotel for the evening. The biggest problem was, these were the only pair of shoes I was carrying in Japan. The staff kicked into action. One of the drivers thought she knew who's shoes they were, and ran to the restaurant where she thought he was. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. They then lent me one of their own gum boots so I had something to wear, and had a second driver drop us home. They also took my phone number, and have promised to call if the person comes back this evening. Fortunately, the person did, and I got a call later in the evening. I offered to come collect them immediately, but the lady at the reception dropped them off at my hotel. I think any organization can learn about first rate service here. The hotel was completely not at fault here, but several of their staff went out of their way to help. I'm really grateful for their help, and I absolutely HAVE to stay here next time, simply to support such awesome people. I hope you do the same.

This was our third visit to the Japanese snow fields, and it was by far and away the best accommodation we have had. Hospitality in the truest sense of the word. Tori and Elly ensured our stay was hassle free and enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble, and they had a wealth of knowledge they were only too happy to share. Will definitely return.

Cosie little motel. Comfortable warm room, good breakfast and pizza. Unfortunately the motel is run by backpackers besides the friendly manager. In some instances I would overhear their loud conversations between themselves or other backpackers they have invited over where they would swear etc which I thought was unprofessional. One night a few of the staff were outside our bedroom window drunk at 3am smoking and laughing keeping us awake. My ski goggles went missing one morning from the drying room and when I complained they magically reappeared that night.
