A self-claimed \country gentleman\ Jiro Shirasu purchased this place in 1942, now open to public with many of his original possessions in display. The house (museum) is very well maintained and its history well explained (in Japanese). It also has a restaurant which serves curry based on Mrs Shirasu's original recipe (lunch only). It is a bit hard to find but is located in the middle of a quiet residential area.

Nicely charming home of Jiro Shirasu turned into a small museum. It’s a beautiful thatch roofed home with a cafe that offers dining in a high ceiling room where you can relax and enjoy a view of the garden.
A hidden gem restaurant. Not in easy-walking distance from train stations around there but can enjoy traditional Japanese western meals called “Yoshoku”. Although price is higher than standard around the neighborhood, it really worthwhile. The atmosphere is great. It is clean and surrounded by greens. There are parking lots available but it is a bit hard to find the location of the parking. Definitely will go back there. Love it so much.
An old house from a famous couple. The husband was a politician and the wife was a writer.
Peaceful historic resistance. See it.
