Great variety of courses and very beginner friendly. The food at the resort was actually pretty good too and had a lot more options than other resorts that I have personally been to. I am not sure about the ski rental prices at the resort as I rented from the ski store down the street, however, if I go here next time I will just be renting from the resort itself. (The ski rental store down the street didn’t bother to actually measure you, so we kept getting the wrong sizes) Once you’ve gotten the hang of basic skiing, try out the athletics course!! It’s super easy and is beginner friendly, and all of the colorful bells and cones that they attach are really cute to ski past!

Absolutely delightful. The powder was 260cm, the facilities were outstanding. Food and drinks - easy access. The staff is very cooperative. Price was very affordable. Will visit again.
Easy hideout for a weekend to enjoy great snow right outside of the Shinkansen. The logistics is admirable between the train platform and the gondola entrance (few meters away and ski pass gear rental)
Access: It’s a good place for a daily trip from Tokyo. Only 70 minutes ride by Shinkansen from Tokyo station. It’s better to book a Shinkansen composed plan offered by JR. The package all together with Shinkansen ticket and one-day lift has a very good reasonable price. Quality: The time I visited was a very sunny with fluffy powder snow quality. It really depends on the weather, but generally speaking, you can enjoy fairly high quality of snow at Gala Ski Resort. The resort itself is not very big. It’s fairly big enough to enjoy skiing/snow boarding within one day. No need to stay over and enjoy the second day.
Quick access from Shinkansen, convenient and nice place. Lots of beginners lay on middle of the course, so you have to watch carefully not to bump on them. Better to come here on Weekday.
