The one-way fare for the 2-minute ride to the West Garden Station is 150 for adults and 80 for children. There is not much to see along the way. When there is a long queue, the waiting time could take 15 minutes or even longer. Alternatively, one can walk across the bridge spanning the road that cuts through the eastern and western sections of the zoo. It is only a 5-minute walk.
The other pair of the monorail station in Ueno Zoo, mostly covered by foliage, less height and therefore lesser views. Smaller lines and no stairs to climb.
Nice journey with monorail
日本で1番最初にできたモノレールでかつ、珍しい懸垂型のモノレールです。短い区間を結んでおり上野動物園のアトラクション的存在でしたが、2019年から運行休止しており残念です。いつか、復活することを願っています。
2019年2月2日に訪れましたが休止中につき、乗車できませんでした。 2019年9月29日に再訪し、乗車することができました。
上野懸垂線、もう何回車両が代替りしたか記憶にない敗戦後再開園してから来園2,000回を超えた日本一上野動物園に来た爺、その度必ず意味もなく？懸垂線に乗るそれも往復歩いても目と鼻の先より未だ短いイソップ橋を渡ればいいだけなのにな！ 余りにもボロくなり休止してしまった懸垂線、また復活してくれや、皆んなの意見を聞くそうだが 皆んな復活を望んでいる、きっと️ 昭和27年、渋谷東急から駅まで極端に短いケーブルカーを作った、そして一年もせず撤去しちまった、これも結構面白かったがな 昭和は遠くなった、爺はお迎えを待つのみ、南無阿弥陀、お陀仏
休止になったのは残念です...
