You got many trails to hike but Kusato is not full of tourists. First you will arrive to Takaosanguchi station . And from there you got several trails to reach Mount Takao. So follow those. Once you get there you can go to the Information center and ask for maps for trails to Kusato mountain. Its beautiful and not many people there so its worth it. The only thing remember the Kanjis for the places that you wanna reach because at some point the English translation is no longer there and it's only Kanjis so at least I will recommend to take pics of the two in Kanjis and English and then look at the pic to know where you need to go. But the people is really nice and will help you a lot. Affer the trail I went to the onsen near the station which was amazing so a must if you just headed to Takao for some natural experience away from the city and want to relax after the long trail.

町田市の最高地点。山頂部は広くベンチと展望台が有ります。 眼下に城山湖、その先に橋本から先の景色が広がります。 高尾山口から一時間弱で到着出来る場所でルートもはっきりしていて少しアップダウンはありますがハイキングコースとしてもおすすめです。
町田市最高峰の山。境川源流も見れ、眼下に街並みが見れて程よくハイキングが楽しめる。草戸峠まで行くと天気が良いときは、遥か遠くにスカイツリーが見えます。
高尾山口駅から草戸山へ。高尾山の南側にある山です。初めの登りが少しあるだけで、後は尾根をゆるゆると登る感じの山歩きとなります。高尾山は旅する蝶のアサギマダラと出会うことができます。 今回は草戸山から三沢峠、西山峠、大垂水峠まで行き、高尾林道を通って高尾山の稲荷山コースから高尾山口に戻るぐるっとまわりました。 大垂水峠から草戸山を目指すコースは尾根歩きなので楽々登山におすすめです。
駐車場は無料。今回は城山湖１周のハイキングコースを歩きました。標準タイムは2時間。階段など装備されてます。上り下りが結構あります。足のトレーニングにちょうど良いです。草戸山頂上は、清々しい。ここを起点にして高尾山や小仏城山方面にも行けます。
高尾山口からここへ来るコースは、細い尾根道で急勾配のアップダウンが多く、低山で練習中の初心者の第２段階という感じです。登山道に沿って有刺鉄線がある区間がちょっと怖いです。普通のロープにできないのかなって思いました。
城山湖畔散策ルートにある山です。 ある程度のアップダウンがあり初心者が運動するのに丁度良いコースです。
天候に恵まれ、時間も往復5時間前後で、手軽なハイキングコースでした！
