Small well kept museum. Quite a lot of interesting exhibits within a small space. There is some English explanation but not a lot. The main building is about the history of whaling as well as information about all forms of marine life in the Japan sea region. There is a separate building with a whale skeleton just before the main building. Great place to spend an hour if you are in the neighborhood.

Good info presented... but the whole place smelled like formaldehyde, and some of the dead specimen were very spooky... just like a university research museum.

Great little museum that u can see actual wale bone and does sea creature. I mean so REAL that life in formalin makes me little intimidate too.. you will never see this in US.. but overall good shock and fun to collect stamps too!
