This is place has gorgeous scenery and lots of Information about commonly consumed tropical plants. The complex feels like a royal historical atmosphere which makes for a delightful stroll.

So much to see so little time!!! Free parking. We've visit the beautiful beaches all the way North of the park and had blue seal ice cream. Visit the gardens last stop South and played a little mini golf and crafts. To the impressive aquarium with the whale sharks. Very cool part is reserving a table to eat in front of the big tank at the cafe.

Great place to walk around and take pictures. Other than the aquarium, the gardens are so beautiful to walk through.

The Tropical Park is half off 340 yen when you show your Aquarium ticket. Work checking out and climbing the tower.

The park seems pretty sparse at first, especially when most of it is empty on weekdays. However, a few things stood out to me: 1. The dolphin show is very simple, but very fun to watch. Possibly the best dolphin show I've seen. I think at one point two dolphins were pushing a third in a lap around the pool (the third was just floating on its back). I've never seen that before. 2. I didn't actually go to the aquarium, but the main rest house has an awesome gigantic deep sea shark exhibit. The fish is preserved and you can see half of its internals 3. There's this mist walkway that looks pretty cool, and kids have a blast with it Oh, and all of the above were free, which makes it worth a visit even if you don't plan on going to the aquarium.

The place is absolutely closed and abandoned. We spoke to the information lady and told us we could arrive at the arboretum in just 5 minutes... But what she didn't told us is that those 5 minutes were USING THE ELECTRIC CAR. We needed around half an arrive for arriving upon a closed and abandoned arboretum. No one told us it was shut down. Obviously we decided to leave the park.

I was here when 20 years ago when I was stationed at Camp Hansen. It was a great place with a lot of interesting displays and there was so much to see and do. Beautiful landscape, beautiful people, beautiful country.
