There was a few cool things and it was pretty cheep for foreigners, but few things had translations, and overall it was a pretty small museum.

A good day out with good walking - seeing not just the mine (standard visit can only see one mineshaft; a special 4000 yen visit to another shaft is possible but requires booking and guide and does not operate everyday) but rural village. It is not busy, which is a positive in many ways and locals are friendly.
Museum in a historical place, with parts still remaining from Edo period. Exhibition shows original remains from the long history of Iwami Ginzan. This museum isn't part of the local tourist organisation (which is good). Staff is very knowledgeable about the subject, kind and helpful.
a long drive in the rain for not much - museum was only in Japanese so I didn't get a lot of the meaning - apart from a few maps. There may have been other shops open earlier but as we got there around closing time (4pm?) it looked largely closed.
世界遺産センターに取って代わられた感もありますが、昔ながらの街並みになじんだ建物は風情があります。展示内容はまあ、ありがちですねと言ったレベルではあるものの興味は引かれます。「世界の中の石見銀山」と大上段にかまえた世界遺産センターの展示より現実感があります。 石見銀山の魅力の半分は歴史的な銀山町の景観にあると考えているので、世界遺産センターに直行するよりは、ここを拠点にあたりを散策するのが良いと思います。
元の代官所、郡役所という固いたてものですが中は落ち着いた資料展示。学ぶところかな‼️
水晶の展示とか全く関係ないし、解体新書とかも必要ないし、展示は見にくいし説明文が柱に隠れたりしてて読めないし行く意味全くなし。 例え入館料が１０円でも入る意味なし 時間の無駄
島根には何度も来ているが石見銀山には初めて来ました。古い街並みが残り、なかなか良かったです。帰りのカフェも良い感じでした。
