Don't be put off by the humble look of the bedrooms. This hotel is a must if you want to experience true Japanese hospitality. We stayed for 3 nights as a rural break between Kyoto and Tokyo and what the best decision we ever made. As per other reviews the shuttle bus make the distance to the city centre just a number as we were spoilt with its flexibility. We booked the breakfast which was delicious and different every day (also a welcomed break for my mother who was not a fan of Japanese food). We decided to try the Hida beef also there for dinner and again it was excellent. We also visited Casa Sola, a little caffee in town also owned by the parents on our way down from the temple route. Overall everything was lovely.

「カブトムシのオスを捕まえたい！」と裏山に餌を仕掛けるオーナーの笑顔と静かな環境、美味しい料理が絶品の宿。記録的猛暑日に訪問してしまい、お勧め頂いた散歩コース等に行けなかったので、季節を変えてリベンジに行きたい。
夏の一番暑い時に行ったのでエアコンがないのはつらかったのですが、料理の美味しさ、ご主人と奥様の人柄の良さ、居心地がそのつらさを凌駕しました。 子供がここの料理を食べて「この料理が食べれられたので、夏休みの旅行（3泊4日の１泊目でした）は成功やな」と言うほどでした。 今度はきこうの良い季節に是非とも行きたいと思います。
