Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is awesome with everything you need to cook breakfast/dinner. The shower excellent for folks tall or short and the massage shower head great on muscles.

Our stay at Ryder’s House was incredible. Jon and Yuki, the owners, are some of my favorite people I’ve met during my time here in Japan and their rental property accuraty reflects why. The house is charming, newly-renovated, and modern giving you West-meets-Japan vibes. Jon told us he spent the last several years renovating the place and his hard work shows. He has an extreme attention to detail. The kitchen was fully stocked and Jon took the time to explain where everything was placed. There are English labels all over the Japanese appliances which made everything clear for us. I liked the label on the microwave on how to warm up drinks - made for nice hot sake. The two bedrooms upstairs are outfitted with king or Japanese double beds (they separate) and enormous comforters. I happily slept like a rock each night without any issue. The curtains and black out shades did their job and blocked out the light, allowing me to continue my beauty rest. The location is about a 5 minute walk to Echoland, a small district for restaurants, bars, and free shuttles to all the Hakuba resorts. I had reservations about being away from some of the resorts and other town centers but it truly was convenient. The only way it could have been easier if there was a ski lift right at the front door. Echoland was exactly what we wanted after a long day of skiing. Great food, impeccable hospitality, and of course, plenty of drinks for apres ski. It’s a three day minimum to reserve Ryder’s but if you can, book more time. We barely feel like we made a dent in Hakuba and wished we stayed longer at Ryder’s House. Thanks for the unforgettable experience! PS if you’re lucky, you might meet Ryder, a very handsome Golden Retriever who can salute, while Jon walks him in the neighborhood.

Stayed here for a 8 nights in March, the house was the perfect size for 4 of us. Conveniently located in Echoland it's a short walk to the main strip and bus stops to get up the mountain. Jon and his wife Yuki are absolute legends who went the extra mile ! Will be back here

We have been very lucky to find Ryder’s house. The place is brand new and well equipped. It is warm, clean and has everything you need for a perfect stay. Free shuttle bus to skiing slopes is just around the corner like various restaurants. But the biggest advantage of this place are the owners. Yuki and Jon took very good care of us (picking from the station, driving to supermarket, etc.). We felt like visiting good friends. Finally, our kids fell in love with their dog Ryder who was the star of the whole visit.

Amazing place in a perfectly centralized location in Hakuba with easy access to all the Hakuba Valley resorts. Close enough to walk to the action in Echoland but far enough away so you can get a nice peaceful nights sleep. Owners John and Yuki have put a huge amount of attention to detail into building Ryders house, and they are the best hosts! Highly recommended!
