Really great and comfortable ferry ride from Shimabara port to Kumamoto port. They drinks and snacks on board to enjoy for a reasonable price. The only thing is I wish the ride was longer to enjoy more of the views and fresh air. I guess I'll have to come back again one day!

Traveled by car from Nagasaki to Kumamoto. The whole queueing; ticketing; parking; boarding; disembarking process was very smooth and efficient. A very nice ride across the sea, with the added accompanying seagulls.

Our high speed ferry was canceled due to bad weather but the car ferry was still running. Really nice trip over even with the wind and rain. Also had a complimentary bus service from the Port to Kumamoto JR Station. We stayed at the New Kumamoto Hotel next to the train station, the best hotel in Japan I've ever stayed in. Huge rooms and bathrooms and fantastic breakfast as well.
