Gorgeous looking place, with a warm atmosphere. It seemed to be popular with locals and the staff were also really helpful to me as a non-Japanese-speaking tourist. An English menu is available on request. Their menu is almost entirely dedicated to free-range chicken in all its forms (deep fried, seared, char-grilled, yakitori, rice bowls etc), and they do an excellent job of it. And all for a very reasonable price.

Amazing quality food in a restaurant with great atmosphere. Staff were very polite and attentive. Looks to be popular with locals which is always a good sign. Highly recommended!
Amazing food! We went on an evening when it wasn't too crowded and were pleasantly greeted at the door and shown to the bar seating. Had a great view of the chefs the entire meal as they cooked our dinner. Ordered chicken meatballs for an appetizer and two fried chicken dishes to share. Delicious flavors and moist chicken. Great place to eat while visiting Kyoto!
First meal of Kyoto trip 2020 Jan. Loved the cold tofu texture with scallion and excellent soy sauce, the smokiness of the charcoal free range chicken, the grilled leek, the super dry minus 18 sake and the tori noodle soup at the end. Great good too- enclave of little narrow streets with heaps of restaurants bars cafes and inns.
Good atmosphere here! The chicken was delicious!
