Ive been back for a month now and im still telling all everyone about it. I can totally understand why they were awarded michelin star cause they are very passionate about their food and you can taste it. Firstly, this place is hands down the best chicken dishes ive ever eaten in my life. Secondly, this place is also the first binjal/aubergine ive ever eaten raw and the best ive ever eaten in my life. And it was served as a starter. Thirdly, they served the best chicken don ive heard in my life as well. Its the toritama don if youre interested. You can thank you by giving me a thumbs up. Says 4 others who have joined me on this trip. They served some crazy unorthodox parts of the chicken and i dare say i probably wouldnt have a better one any where else. It was beautiful. The taste of the chicken hearts was so well cleaned, the muscle tasted fresh, textured, slight taste of iron but it was good meat. I can have this all day. The rest of the parts were very well done, really show casing different parts of the chicken. I love all the skewers. But if i had to choose, chicken knee caps for its crunchy and fattiness, heart, wings and veggies. They dont speak much english. So if you have a japanese friends definitely bring them along. If you dont, order the chef's special. And a chicken don. You should have it for yourself cause its amazing. All the seats are counter seats, and youll need to book them 2 weeks in advanced. Only for 2 pax. If not your japanese friend would have to call in.

Toritama is considering one of Tokyo’s difficult to book yakitoriya. Most yakitori grills provide standard parts like breast, thigh, wings, etc., but Toritama has a menu of over 30 parts, plus a daily ‘secret menu’ of rare cuts. These skewers are grilled over charcoal and served with their home-made sauce or sprinkled with salt; you will just realize how yummy a chicken could taste. One of their signatures is chochin. This is named chochin because two golden eggs dangle from the skewer like lanterns, and probably because the chicken ovaries and uterus with young unfertilised eggs’ sound not-so appetizing. The chefs are very skillful to ensure the flesh is cooked while keeping the eggs intact – all so that they can burst the soft & sticky yolk into your mouth when bitten into. Also there are plenty of side dishes and appetizers to nibble on between all the skewers. They also offer a good menu of sake, wine, beer, cocktails, and other non-alcohol drinks. Always a fun place to go with friends!
