One of the original onsen establishments around Lake Suwa. Have no complaints about their services and food nor accomodations, but everything is mundane. Very typical Japanese ryokan with polite services, solid rooms and humongous amount of food. And the place is not cheap.

Lovely Ryokan. Fantastic dinner, and a breakfast that didn't disappoint either. Once I got back to the Japanese styled room in the evening, the staff had taken out the ofuton and made the bed ready. This is not unusual to Japan, but as a westerner it's a nice experience everytime. The hot bath onsen is nice with outdoor wooden bath, and leaves your skin moisturized and refreshed.
When you visit this Onsen and hotel, summer season is best. You will see a good lake view spread out as far your eyes can and at night sparkling fire-works on it . They can see from the room, but I recommend that you should go out a little bit and see those at the shore. They are very good view and comfortable. The Onsen and the accommodations are good and make you relaxed. The food is Japanese cuisine and delicious. There are a little interesting things around there.

I have been here about 20 years ago, that is, in the summer of 1998. The astonishing view of this Japanese onsen hotel had impressed me quite a lot for its interior design was so glimmering in the sunset evening--in all gold, yellow and orange shades. Taking a hot spring bath, delicious kaiseki cuisine, and the firework after dinner were all precious in my memories. Even though nowadays there are many luxury hotels, this hotel is still my typical icon of ”Japanese beauty.”

Goto割を使って、3人で泊まりました。部屋までの対応、仲居さんの親切な対応は素晴らしいと思います。時間を気にせずに、ゆっくりとお酒を飲むことが出来ました。中庭も素晴らしく、とてもリラックス出来ました。気分よく食事、温泉を堪能できます。また、来ようと思います。
