We can see fossils from the Sanchu Cretaceous. Professor Masaki Matsukawa resarched the Sanchu Cretaceous especially in Gunma and Saitama and brought great progress in Cretaceous researches. You can also experience his great Achievement - the discovery of the footprints of dinosaurs. Never forget visiting this museum when you have a chance!

The park is not too big, but the quality of thr attractions is amazing. Also the region is amazing.

As of today, 28th of November 2018 it's closed. I traveled really far too setting off very early to find it shut with no obvious message on their website and it clearly stating it's open. A bad experience! I may try again next year but they've lost a lot of my respect for not being clear about their open times. 122km is a long way to travel to find something is closed! Maybe it'll be open by Spring, they're pretty busy with construction stuff.

A small museum with gift shop and cafe. It's a modern building that you won't miss on the road (plus the dinosaur statue helps). Everything was clean, well lit, A/C, and easy to see. There was sufficient English for me to understand what I was seeing without knowing Japanese, although most of the interpretation was Japanese. The fossils were fantastic and very well displayed. They included plants, small creature, and large dinosaurs. I liked the way that they would use obvious cribwork for the missing bones of their full dinosaur skeletons. On the second floor. we could see people working behind glass wall, they were hand carving small dinosaur models out of wood. They waved and showed us their work through the window. These were for sale at very reasonable prices at the gift shop. The gift shop had a large array of Kanna and Gumna souveniers, and strange food items. We had their curry noodles for lunch, YUM. I want the recipe! Everyone was friendly. We also drove down the crazy twisty Kanna roads to view the fossil dinosaur prints in the nearby roadcut. Gorgeous drive! Be sure to pick up their map of Kanna attractions and seek them out too.
