Ishinomaki, Japan
Uchiyama-88 Tashirohama

Love this place. Quiet and many welcoming cats! There was almost no shop/stall though when I visited. It will always be a good idea to bring your own snacks or water.

One of the cat island in Japan. When I visited, there was not too many cats (or even humans). There was only one cat at the docking area. The ferry ticket cost 1.230 yen one way from Ishinomaki Port to any port in Tashirojima Island ( you need to buy it from a machine ticket, and the machine has English language). Someone told me the cats were hiding inside the house at that time. On the way to shrine, you see more cats although not that many in my opinion. There is a resting area near the shrine, where you can see most of the cats. This resting area is also selling some nice souvenirs. One of the cats could smell my chicken sandwich inside my bag, and starts to attack my bag (so be careful). You are not allow to feed the cats in this island unfortunately.
A good place to spend half a day trip between morning and afternoon hiking, relaxing, and playing with cats. The view from the peaceful island was beautiful. There're only a few facilities like toilets and shops on the island though.
You can see many cute dirty on this island. These cats are “deities” so you should not bring any foods for them. They are kept naturally but respected by people on this island. You can walk all of the path within 1.5 hours during next schedule for going back to Ishinomaki. I like to walk around very silent and covered path. There’s only few small cafes and no convenience stores.
can found my heart here good to come for cat slave
