Best tendon in Asakusa. All the gredients are fresh and well seasoned, especially the eel, nearly perfect. Can't wait to see them reopen in Taipei!
The Chef set of each type is a decent choice for anyone who is not intimately familiar with Tempura. The batter and the underlying preparations are crisp and fresh. There is very little oil dripping. The Japanese omelette with fish filling is a new concept and it’s delicious. Its hot and tender and almost melts in your mouth. Most people cant eat tempura just by itself, so get a 200 rice and 150 miso soup for you. This place is perhaps tummy full at about 1800 per person. Edit1: Degrading the review due to substandard quality. We had stomach-aches after this meal.
The tempura we had were delicious but the staff was slightly unfriendly. The restaurant was full, so I guess they were stressed. The menu was delicious and the prices are good. We especially liked the great and unique taste of Shitamachi’s miso soup. This tempura restaurant is a great choice compared to other tempura restaurants around Asakusa.
I heard about this restaurant from a friend. Maybe I expect too much. I had ebi tendon but the tempura was quite soggy, soaked with oil. Sauce over rice was kind of bland so i use extra soy sauce. The quality of seafood is fresh. Service is very attentive and restaurant atmosphere was simple/traditional.
