Amazing samurai experience. I learned a lot about how to handle weapons and draw a sword. Very friendly staff as well. Definitely a must for anyone traveling through or living in Tokyo. Great history lesson as well as exciting sword fighting and training.

TENSHINRYU Samurai Dojo in English is a MUST! Hands down, this is the real deal to see a serious presentation of the Japanese martial art, Bushido demonstrated by contemporary samurai. It’s located on the 2nd floor of a house style pub, but capturing the feeling of the traditional days of Japan. These true modern samurai will give you first hand explanations of their clothing, weapons, techniques and methodology. Not only can we enjoy the awesome spectacle of this martial arts experience but we can participate as well! I went with a friend from New York and we were both completely blown away! It was obvious there’s a lot of amazing things that even we Japanese don’t know about our own traditional culture. I can’t wait until the next time to see this demonstration again!
