The best knife I have ever used till now. The price is reasonable and they accept dollars and euros too !!! But go with someone who can speak Japanese.

Wow, the art of these knives are steeped in history and tradition. You’re going to fork out some serious cash for these knives, but they will last generations to come.

the best place to get knives.the japanese knives are razor sharp. the build quality of the tsukiji masamoto is top notch. it’s going to a small artisanal familly owned shop. they have great choice and can’t recommend more their carbon knives. don’t get the SK3 or white steel 3 but instead the V1 version or white steel 2 ( or white steel 1 or blue steel if you want to splurge). also get the sayas as well so rhey do the fitting for you. also note they don’t credit card but cash!! they have a locationin the new fish market but this one is really convenient. they open early too so you can do knive shopping behore!!

I bought one Gyuto Knife. Crew was very helpful. They answered all of my questions. The knife is razor sharp. Next time I’m in Tokyo, I am buying more!

Well-established family knife factory/retailer of mutliple generations located in the heart of Tsukiji. Masamoto is a well-known brand in Japan, but despite its history, their knives can only be bought in the original store front in Tsukiji and online. The store was easy to find and it was wall to wall of beautifully crafted knives. Business there was hopping. My daughter and I went there with specific knife choices in mind: her a general chef's blade and me a sushi knife. We were expertly helped by the sales folks there. The prices were great, especially when compared against the online stores in North America selling the same knives. The same store clerk that helped us with the selection inquired about how the knives would be used, what kind of cutting would be most typical, and then he personally sharpened the knives according to our needs. It took roughly 10 minutes per knife. There were four or five sales clerks in that little store and they were busy. If you are looking for a knife you want to use and treasure, this is the place to be.
