Charcoal touched unagi specialist. Expensive. Hitsumabashi sauce and rice outstanding, as are the grilled eel liver appetizers. Course menu should be shared given ample servings of the mains.
This place became my absolute favorite “Nagoya startle” unagi place in the area. U will get to try head to toe unagi in various unique way. I talked to the head chef and he was very passionate about their food and the Japanese sake they serve. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing everything. If you love Unagi and Japanese sake, you are definitely in the right spot.
Unagi cooked the traditional way with charcoal. Usually bad cooked unagi has a taste of mud but this one is crunchy and tasty no soil flavor whatsoever. The best unagi I've ever had!
I think this is one of the best place to enjoy eel. Just try it when you visit Roppongi Hills and then you can find what I’m saying.
Food is ok, but not great. The greater problem is that the service is VERY VERY bad if you don't speak Japanese, or if you are not Japanese. They don't care what you ask for and are very impatient: e.g. put the check on your desk once food is on table. I see very different service to the people next to me.
If you ever wanted to eat a whole meal of eel, then you've come to the right place! We found this restaurant after the museum and decided to try it out. The cheapest option for their eel over rice meal is around 50, with the price difference due to the portion size of the eel. Once in a lifetime experience in my opinion. If you can try wagyu, you can try eel.
