great seaview onsen facing Japan Sea. However, the glass dome was not opened at the time of my visit (because of the cold weather), otherwise the view would be even more impressive. The cottages/bungalows there are also well furnished, much better than staying in a regular hotel room. Food in the restaurant is also great!

Great views from onsen- sunset was amazing. Great place to stay if you are going to 十二湖 nearby. Lots of fresh seafood for dinner. WiFi readily available. Everything is in Japanese.

The service here was great, the rooms/houses could use some freshing up, but they're fairly comfortable as well. I really enjoyed the snow carrot experience and the onsen offered an awesome view. The food was alright. Despite an agreeable visit to Wespa Tsubakiyama, I did not give a very high rating because many attractions were unavailable during our stay however there were no notices of these closures anywhere. I would advise fellow travellers to wait until after April to visit.

Very nice view from the onsen. Must go for the sunset. Though the onsen was really crowded.

Love the Western-style cottages on the cliff by the sea. The best experience to arrive here is by the train Resort Shirakami. Stay at least 2 nights to fully appreciate the wide open sea view, insect museum, rail car on a hill, hot spring bath, nearby Juniko and Shirakami Sanchi, and the lesser known cultural landmark Tsubakiyama. Loved the gloomy and a tad eerie backdrop in early-Winter.
