Went with some of my friends and we had a great experience! It was my first time doing SUP and I enjoyed it. The scenery is really beautiful and the guides were amazing! Our guides took pictures and brought out some hot beverages to warm us up after our fun time in the water.

I went with a few friends, and we had a wonderful time on the half day SUP tour. As it was my first time trying SUP, I was surprised by how much coordination it took to stand and worried about how the rest of the tour would go, but we all adjusted to it very quickly. The couple who runs withRIVER were very kind, and they obviously know the river very well. One member of our tour ended up scraping his leg slightly (a minor injury, through no fault of the tour). Our guides responded extremely quickly, patching him up with their first aid kit. He enjoyed the rest of the tour, even jumping off the submersible bridge at the end (an opportunity only a few of us participated in)! We had an extremely enjoyable day!
I joined this experience with a few friends almost at the end of the season for SUP, stand up paddle boarding. I hadn't been before and I was nervous, but the couple that run this explained everything well and came along the river, even taking photos for us! We quickly got used to standing up on the board, and knowing when to brace for short rapids! I brought my water bottle but I don't think you'll need it if it isn't summer. There was a short break midway with tea and coffee, and a game with special rocks in that area. There were also special flowers that grew close to the river so we could get close to them. The end goal was the chinkabashi, bridge designed to sink during floods, and I thought the time absolutely flew when I saw it! It didn't feel like the few hours it had been because it was really fun and there were so many things to see and do along the way. I can't wait to join again! There were also wetsuits and jackets provided so we didn't need to worry about getting one beforehand, and the jacket was a good idea to keep safe from the sun!
Unique experience doing SUP in Japan the prices are not that high but it’s the best sup place staff is very friendly.You can even choose your paddle! Very nice!
Highly recommend. Our guide was super accommodating and gave us some extra free time kayaking, and even the chance to try SUP! He took pictures of us to send us later, too. Definitely the best kayaking place I’ve ever been to. The Shimanto river is so beautiful!
