It was a really nice experience to cross the low tide ocean to the island with this water buffalo cart ride. The ride was slow and short. While riding the cart, the driver told us the story about the water buffalo that carried us, and he also sang us some folk song using the okinawa shamisen.

It’s quite a fascinating sight of this method of transportation across the low tide ocean to another island. What an experience! The cart driver tells some stories about the water buffalo that’s pulling your cart, and he also plays the local instrument and sings too. Of course everything is in Japanese. The tour is very organized. They tell you which cart number you’re in, then the time of when you’re supposed to be back. Plus the lunch too (every dish is yummy! Local dish)
A must to ride if visiting Yubu island. The drivers may sing a song or play a musical instrument for you.
It was nice experience!
Very quiet, serene and natural habitat. I was a bit concerned for the buffaloes Ferrying people to the island. Nice experience though.
This relaxing 400m journey is best done at low tide. Some drivers speak a little English and some will even serenade their passengers while playing the sanshin (Okinawan banjo).
It was interesting. Didn't spend a lot of time there but it gave you a sense of how they used to transport things by water buffalo, and the water buffalo were nice.
The transportation to Yubu Island is only by Water-buffalo cart in the shallow sea and it takes 15 mins. Noted on my wonder-tips site.
