AWESOME MUSEUM!!!!!!!!! GREAT ARTIFACTS AND PRESENTATIONS. I WISH THERE WERE MORE ENGLISH EXPLANATIONS BUT NOT COMPLAINING. MUSEUM MAKES USE OF AN APP THAT YOU CAN USE TO LISTEN TO TRANSLATIONS FOR ALL EXHIBITS.

The museum had a wide variety of WW2 and pre-WW2 models from the Japanese imperial navy. It has a free audio guide that you can download from any app store. There is also an area where you can learn about some scientific concepts of ship building and navigation that is very kid-friendly. Overall a very good experience that is well worth the price of 500.

Good place to learn the history of the great Yamato Battleship. And if you play the game, world of warships, you will definitely get to see familiar ships from the gake. Truly amazing!

An extremely informative museum that charts the life of the Yamato from start till end. Most of the information and display are in Japanese but there are snippets of English that gives you sufficient information about the exhibits. The building itself is well designed, one can chill on the museum steps while viewing the scale model at the same time. The tickets allow multiple entry on the same day if you feel like popping out for lunch and coming back later. The museum is also a short walk away front he ferry terminal and the JMSDF submarine museum which is also a must visit. A definite must visit if you are a fan of battleships.

Excelent choice for every WW II history lover and of course lover of warships. Main attraction is definetly 1:10 model of battleship Yamato which is awesome. You can go under it to watch screws and belt armor as well as you go thru the whole exhibition you see Yamato from different floor level. There are many more interesting parts like models (smaller) of other ships and planes. Also there are real plane, small submarine and torpedoes. Entry fee was quite reasonable and in souvenir shop you can find tons of merchandising some of them are very nice.
