Cursy museum to learn about the nature of the northern side of the island. Worth a detour as you stop through the north side. The staff are super nice and love to show you around. Plenty of parking and free.

The staff here was very helpful. Their English wasn't very good, but the lady that was very enthusiastic about showing my kids, wife, and I live beatle larvae and telling us about several other things. We don't expect Japanese people to know English, but she was still able to communicate her passion for wildlife with us and make it a educational and enjoyable experience for my family.

This is an excellent facility to visit and learn about the wildlife, to be found, on Okinawa. There are displays of many endangered species and, recently, they have added tablets, which translate the Japanese signs to, English. Nature lovers and their families will enjoy a visit to this attraction.

ウフギー自然館ではやんばるの大自然を分かりやすく理解してもらえるよう資料や映像、実物のはく製等の展示物があります。 ゆんたくスペースややんばるライブラリー周辺にある書籍は自然・動植物に関するものがほとんどで、 毎年フォトコンテストも開催しておりその写真集は大変参考になりました。 なお映像・レクチャールームと夜の森エリアは三密回避のため、 利用が出来なくなっています。

自然学習したい方にオススメでしょうか。 山登り前の方などいらしてましたよ。 入口にロードキルを訴える看板がありました。が！ 私達がその看板に歩いて向かおうとするといきなり環境省の看板のついた車がバックで発進！ あと少しで自分達がロードキルされる所でしたwww 降りてくることなくそのまま走り去りました。 一言あやまる位しろ〜

ヤンバルクイナは人なつっこいです。 カメラ目線でアピールしてきます。 道中野生のヤンバルクイナに3回遭遇してました。通り雨があったので、餌を求めて車道近くに出てきたと思います。 ラッキーでした。
