The worst hostel ever. I don’t even stay 1 night and when I said want my money back they take 50% of 7 nights ( my whole reservation) even when I didn’t stayed 1 night. The uploaded photos are really different. Is this the most dirty place than I have ever saw... around 30usd and even don’t include a soap for bath. A lot of printed pages in walls with the message we aren’t not responsible for stolen things. This place is a hell. Don’t go.

First off let me say that this place was awesome. Yeah it's not a Hilton or Sheraton hotel. It's a hostel with character. I stayed there as corvo-19 was kicking up all over the world. Nick, one of the front desk guys asked how we were doing every time we saw him. He gave us history of the location of hostel. Free tickets to Sankeien Garden when we asked about checking it out. My man was a wealth of knowledge. He even went out of his way to print up a location of a jiujitsu gym I could train at. Oh and the ramen recommendations. Yes rooms are small but they got a roof top which is dope to chill and drink or whatever. It's close to all major points of interest. I recommend walking to Sankeien Garden from hostel if you like adventure. Lots of nooks to check out on the 1:30 walk and getting lost in quaint neighborhoods. If you got a family I would look elsewhere as you will probably complain about space like all of the other dumb reviews.

amenities - you get a private room with a full tatami-and-futon setup, with a TV and a mini-fridge. soap and shampoo are in the showers but you have to bring your own towel or buy one. shower pressure is great and showers and toilets are clean. location - bit of a distance from the city centre but near chinatown. this works out because you can head out early to the city centre and the waterfront and make your way back to chinatown for neon lights and dinner. the hostel rents out bicycles (500 for 24h) which is a great way of getting around the city. building is old (like pre-washlet old!) but clean. i found it charming. there's a rooftop garden for smokers and lovers and a small kitchen area on the 5th floor with utensils and condiments if you want to make your own food. staff are friendly and laid-back. yokohama is a beautiful city and i hope to return soon. when i do i'd like to stay again at yokohama hostel village.

Never book from this hotel, Be careful!!! if you don't believe me before than payment ask them check room, and bathroom, if you pay first you can't back your money, they will eat, So bad experience in Japan for me, very dirty room, so bad smell, after I paid I checked room, when you open door smell coming to your face, impossible to sleep inside, I request cancellation but they didn't pay back to my money, It's not any cheap, I asked help from 2 polices, they confirmed the hotel not any hygienic, even I show to police at lobby very big bug, also I showed room to polices and I asked to them what is this smell, because it's not cigarette or tatami smell, polices told me this smell coming from some of chemical which is they are using for insect, All of that confirmed by polices but even polices told me in Japan no any department has I can complain for hygienic conditions and also complain for the return my payment , In Japan No protection law for tourist if some hotels cheat tourist, They eat my money , And just smile, even didn't say sorry, Olympic games coming , I don't know how Japan can protect tourist from cheaters, how they will welcome to tourist,

Cheap hostel near Chinatown. Reception is is the building with the blue sign. Our room was located across the street from that building. The room fits exactly 2 futons. There is a little mini fridge and AC/heater in the room. Ladies washroom is on 5th floor. Mens washroom is on the 4th floor. A microwave and a mini gas stove is avaliable to use. Bring your own towels or rent them.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple weeks for a friends wedding. Close to Yokohama and lots of interesting shops. Sure the rooms are small, but for the 40 we spent it was totally worth it, and cozy! There was a TV to watch the local channels, air conditioning and a mini fridge in the room. It was nice to have the kitchen when we wanted to make small meals (but to be honest, we mostly ate out or went to the Family Mart up the street for snacks) My tips: don't use the dryer. I spent 700 yen to realize why everyone just hangs up their laundry on the top floor by the garden. And ask for European pillows. The pillows that come in the room are the small bean types for people that sleep on their backs which I'm not used to. Trying to use the shower wasn't too bad, just write your room number on the whiteboard to claim the next spot if it's busy. But we only had to do that once. Remember to pack light! As there isn't a lot of space in your room. Oh, there's also a small supermarket just past the train station, it's easy to miss, but it was nice to know it was there. Overall, it was a excellent experience. For westerners like us, it was a real culture shock. But I loved it and would stay here again.

The location was handy very close to Chinatown, the staff we're incredibly friendly. I thought I was welcome and felt like part of the crew when I was invited to eat and drink with everyone! I was given recommendations that the staff were fond off, and was helped around the city as well by staff. The rooms were adequate, but for sleeping only, not big enough to hang out. There was a 24 hour roof garden and 24 hour entry too, as well as bicycle rental and amenities like shared kitchen, shared showers, laundry and common areas. I loved my experience here very much and can reccommend it without hesitation for anyone looking for a cheap place to crash at night with friendly staff!

Too small for 2 person with luggage. There's no towel . Too expensive for a room with minimum facilities.
