Quaint Taiwanese owned restaurant in an alley off the main Chinatown street (look for a zig zag string of Taiwanese flags). Don't let the size of the restaurant fool you into thinking it's to be overlooked. The boss lady was kind in accommodating our vegan food wishes, telling the chef to use new oil and making sure not to make the food too salty. We were searching for a vegan friendly restaurant that was listed on Happy Cow, but couldn't find it. We're glad that we took a chance on this restaurant where I know from experience that Taiwanese people are open to accommodating Buddhist vegetarians. Pro tip: If you don't speak Mandarin or Taiwanese, have your Google translator ready and ask for particular dishes to be made. In our case, we asked for stir fried A-vegetables in garlic sauce, stir fried mixed veggies, and mapo tofu. And ask for bowls of white rice. They all came out delish.
