Great half day trip to wonder through all the stores in the village. Pay attention to signs as what you think is a house is the store and there are private residencies as well. Each place has their unique artistic signature. Plenty of free parking. Some places say food but when I went during the week none had food.

Easy activity for a weekend or weekday trip. Doesn’t take long to see all the different pottery stores, however each store has similar products with some design differences. Pottery is a little more expensive than I though it would be, but you can tell each piece was hand made and a lot of effort is put into every piece.
Amazing small village where you can buy the local potteries. The prices are really good compare to what you find in other stores for the same product. The mood is really cool and you can see some people performing their art (glassmaking).
I am so glad we visited. Master potter 松田共司 Matsuda Kyoushi runs the largest kiln in Okinawa. Learnt about the long process of preparing the clay that takes almost 7 years before it can be used to shape into vessels. So much life lessons we can draw from the process of pottery. A quaint and beautiful village to look around. Bring cash if you want to purchase pottery. The pottery items are made for daily use. Each piece is hand made and different from those from Daiso that is machine and mass produced. After understanding the process of hand made pottery, the prices seems very Low.
Great place to spend a weekend day. Pottery prices are over 10,000 for nice sized pieces so bring plenty of money
This place is good to walk, not to find economoical potteries.
Yomitan Pottery Village, the original source of Coca-cola bottles. This is a collection of pottery and glass making shops, with a huge variety of many beautiful things for sale, but many other really exquisite items on display, including early coke bottles as well as incredible museum-quality glass and pottery items. You can also get your lion-dog statues here, all sizes and styles. Well worth a visit even if you don't buy anything.
Interesting collection of pottery shops, all selling unique style of pottery. The various styles of statues, cups, bowls and plates were beautiful, but quite pricey... An interesting cultural walk where I spent half an hour walking around, before jumping back in the car and heading to the rycom aeon mall.
