ここには1931年（昭和6年）1966年（昭和41年）まで35年に渡り、旧国鉄宇品線下大河駅があり、多くの人の通勤、通学に使われました。この地が駅だったことを記念し、今では「ポッポ広場」と呼ばれ、広場にはブロックで機関車のデザインが描かれています。鉄道に関する資材の展示などは何もありません。
