Seats are a little too close for comfort. But a good way to assist in your exploration. I highly recommend it in ascending, to have a lot of time to explore the many attractions of Mitake, especially on a day trip

An average tram but with colorful body. Suica works here and you can just use it at the ticket gate but in that case you will be charged with the one-way fare and cannot get the return fare discount. Car parking next to the tram station is 100 yen more for a day than those with Times parking.
It's about a 6-minute ride. You can use a Suica and Pasmo card.
Good place to start climbing. Nice view The car parking area is a bit expensive (350 yen per hour and 1400 yen max) than the other places but it is just next to the station. The ride is about 6 min with beautiful scenery.
上までこのケーブルカーで登ってから、上の方でロックガーデンや日の出山までゆっくり歩いた方が楽しいです。歩いて上まで行こうとすると、アスファルトで舗装された杉林の中の急坂を登ることになります。
ケーブルカーで登っても針葉樹が多いのか 紅葉はさほどでも無い 渓谷沿いの遊歩道の方がいいですね。
