We had the chance to go while they were putting on a dance. It was really fun and interesting. The museum is tiny and so is the outside. I’d recommend going when they have events. Beautiful area around the facility. Take time to go to the public bath next door!

Informative and interactive. Wanted to know much more about Ainu music and food but they recommended a bigger museum for the same.

A very good museum at about an 1 hour bus ride from Sapporo Station. People here are very friendly, and the price of a ticket for a ticket for the exhibition room is very affordable (200円). The fact that you can touch every artefacts showed here is also a huge plus.

Hands on to touch museum and culture center. Check schedule for culture events too. Friendly staff. Next to onsen and near Koganeyu cherry park. 5 mins from Jozankei-bound bus stop - Koganeyu.

Located about 40 minutes by bus from Makomanai St. (the last station of Sapporo Namboku Line Subway). This is the closest spot from Sapporo for those who is interested in Ainu Culture. The museum is relatively small, but it has a very good collection of the goods worn by the indigenous Ainu people. You can touch and freely take photos in the exhibition room. I very much like the whole thing about Ainu language, and if you understand Japanese you will notice that Ainu language is quite different. Overall a recommended place to visit while in Hokkaido.
