Good food and wonderful live shamisen music. Music starts around 7:15pm, so arrive between 6:00 to 6:30pm for enough time to eat before the show (and plenty of seating). No English speaking staff or menu, but come with a sense of adventure and you'll be just fine. They have a set menu which you can make ordering easier. Highly recommend Tekikaka apple cider which is brewed locally in town.

Yummy food with life traditional music.
Lovely ambience, great food and friendly staff! Come for the jamisen performances at 7 pm daily!
Hirosaki is a lesser known quiet town in Northern Japan, compared to all the glitters of Tokyo metropolitan, and defintely a welcome break if you are planning for just couple of days break or a weekend getaway. If I have the world of time in my hand, I would love to spend a whole week in this beautiful apple-town. One of the attractions of this town is, visit to a local Japanese restaurant which not only serve great food, they play live traditional Japanese music too. The feel and decor at this restaurant is bit nostalgic that gives a glimpse of Japanese era of the past. The instrument played by the local artist is traditional and very different from western instruments. you just can't complete the visit without tasting local sake & some amazing sushi along with other local cuisine. Overall, this place is a must visit for an amazing experience of Japanese culture & tradition. Strongly recomended. Best time to visit - summer months in Japan.
