I really recommend this tofu Japanese food restaurant with Kaiseki course. After went to the Nijō Castle, i wanted to go to izakaya to have Japanese foods and went here, next time i want to try the Kaiseki course.

The most authentic Japanese dinner I’ve had!!! This quiet, calm restaurant gave us an excellent experience. The staff members are friendly and welcoming, and they all speak some English. In addition, the restaurant offers a menu in English with descriptions of the food, so we have no trouble ordering. We ordered the bluefin tuna sashimi, wagyu beef cooked on a sizzling pan, DIY tempura, and some other dishes, all of which are amazingly cooked in Japanese style. The wagyu beef is 10/10 strongly recommended. Their prices are great; we spent around 8,000 yen for two people (around 75 dollars), which is not much considering we ordered bluefin tuna and wagyu beef. Overall, if you’re looking for an authentic meal experience in Kyoto, Japan, this is the restaurant to go.
Sekkei is always a favorite for us... Yoshi-san has again gave us a flavor of Kyoto.
We’ve been at SEKKEI on April 6, 2018. We had a great time, great dinner, with very welcoming people. The staff (Boss & Employee) are pleasent and take care of everything. Very good souvenir. We recommend this restaurant.
I had an early diner at Sekkei. Arrived at 6pm and left at 10:30pm ! I was charmed by the place, the food and the very friendly staff. Clean mind and good heart. Totally recommended!
