Shimoda Ropeway Entrance is near to Izukyu Shimoda Station. Only 2 minutes walk. Entry ticket 1050 YEN. Can buy with discount by showing the discount coupon at Shimoda Ropeway Homepage or buy at The Tourist Information vending machine at Izukyu Shimoda station. High ground view is amazing. But not only high ground view, include shrine on the top of Nesugatayama, seasonal flowers, Koi fishes and Guard house in Shimoda. Fun ride of 15 minutes ropeway.

2020年9月19日、訪問。 寝姿山駅は眺望のよいカフェレストラン「THE ROYAL HOUSE」が併殺されているため、狭い駅の構造でロープウェイの乗車待ちの列と戸惑うことがありそう。カフェ利用者はそのまま進んで確認するとよいです。 駅入口に手指消毒用のアルコールがありました。 近くの展望台まですぐです。愛染堂まで5分くらいだったでしょうか。緩やかな尾根ですが愛染堂までは上りです。眺望はとてもよいです。 散策しなくてもTHE ROYAL HOUSEで景色を見ながらゆっくりお茶するのもいいかも知れません。
寝姿山は江戸末期黒船を監視した場所であり、アメリカのペリー提督が登ったと言われています。女性の仰向けの寝姿に似ているところから名前がついた。標高200ｍの山頂には黒船見張所、愛染堂、石割楠、和み玉(なごみたま)などがあり下田港も一望出来ます。公園にもなっており散策路も奇麗だし晴れていれば伊豆七島も見えます。
